Jennifer Al-Janabi – Personal Biography

Jennifer attended the University of Leicester where she earned an LLB Degree, going on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Birmingham. Jennifer then qualified as a solicitor in 2006 at a Birmingham-based commercial law firm. Initially practising in commercial litigation and employment law, she soon started specialising purely in employment-related issues.

During her time in practice, Jennifer has gained extensive experience in employment tribunal litigation, acting for both employers and employees. In particular, Jennifer has dealt with numerous discrimination and unfair dismissal complaints, including successfully claiming against individual company directors in a religious discrimination claim. Jennifer has also regularly drafted and advised upon settlement agreements. Further, Jennifer has advised companies upon and acted in litigation in relation to breach of restrictive covenants, including obtaining injunctive relief and successfully pursuing damages.

Jennifer also has considerable non-contentious experience, including preparing employment documentation and advising companies on redundancy selection and procedures as well as on employment issues arising from the sale or purchase of a business, including acquisitions from companies in administration.

Jennifer is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Outside of work, Jennifer has three young children and enjoys spending time on family days out. She also enjoys swimming, walking and reading.
