Equality Act 2010 Pregnancy and Maternity
The Equality Act 2010, pregnancy and maternity, protects employees from discrimination. It applies from when you become pregnant until the end of your maternity leave or return to work (whichever is earlier). It’s illegal for employers to treat someone less favourably because they are pregnant, have a pregnancy-related illness or are on maternity leave.
