Chiltern Hills in High Wycombe

When you’re looking for a place that has a lot of natural beauty, then consider the rolling hills of England. The problem is with the many choices of beautiful rural countryside, it will be nearly impossible for you to figure out which place to visit. The Chiltern Hills are not too far from our High Wycombe Office.

We’ll make it a little bit easier for you by telling you about one of the most beautiful places you can visit and that is the Chiltern Hills. The best part is this secluded, beautiful location is lesser know than the famous White Cliffs of Dover.

Where Are The Chiltern Hills Located?

The hills are located in High Wycombe Buckinghamshire and are actually quite a bit larger than what you might expect to see. In fact, these hills cover a total of 833 square kilometres. So the hills are spectacularly big.

The hills run in a diagonal line with the North East Corner found in the Goring-on-Thames region. The hills will continue to run to the South West corner which is going to be found near the small village of Hitchin in Herefordshire. So as you can tell this is going to cover quite a large area for you to explore.

What Are The Chiltern Hills

The Chiltern Hills are a chalk sheet that has been mentioned in the ancient past. This hilly and rugged landscape overlooks the Vale of Aylesbury. You will find these hills to be a wonderful place to visit as they have some breathtaking views.

You may be thinking about how the hills were formed. The hills are on the Southern edge of some of the glacial ice shelves. At one point in time in the distant past, this beautiful countryside was covered in ice. The clues are in the rich soil here which is rich in minerals.

The History

When you’re looking at the area, you may be curious about its history. The area was seen as one of the many safe passages used by the Romans during the Bronze Age. This is because the region was one that had many natural passages that at the time were considered safe and protected from bandits and the weather alike.

The Chiltern Hills are a spectacular place to visit. Stunning views and picturesque walks have won the hearts of many.
